(Duluth, MN) -- Minnesota Border Patrol agents say they have seen more illegal crossing attempts at the Canadian border.

Officials say an increasing number of smugglers are moving people, weapons, and money across the border in both directions.

Authorities say state and federal law enforcement agencies are partnering with non-governmental organizations to fight the smuggling.

Minnesota shares a nearly 550 mile border with Canada plus an open shoreline on Lake Superior.
