(Princeton, MN) — The suspect arrested in a standoff in Benton County that left five officers wounded has a history with law enforcement.
The five were members of the Sherburne County Drug Task Force and had gone to serve a warrant against 64-year-old Karl Holmberg of Glenordo Township.
Holmberg exchanged gunfire with the officers at around 7 a.m.
Additional police were called in, and Holmberg was taken into custody at around 10:45 after he was struck with a non-lethal projectile.
Holmberg has not yet been charged.
His criminal history shows a string of drug-related charges from 1986 to 2005.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is continuing the investigation.
