Plea deal allows former Viking Everson Griffen to avoid drunken driving conviction

(Chaska, MN)  —  Former Viking defensive end Everson Griffen is avoiding a drunken driving conviction after striking a plea deal.

He was arrested last summer after he was pulled over in Chanhassen.

Griffen was placed on one year supervised probation and has been ordered to pay over one thousand dollars in fines and fees after pleading guilty to misdemeanor careless driving.

In exchange for his plea, the drunken driving and speeding charges were dismissed.
