ND Vision Zero: 147 people cited in alcohol or drug related stops in most recent campaign

(Bismarck, ND) — North Dakota’s Vision Zero says 147 people were cited for alcohol or drug related stops on state roadways.

The data comes from the North Dakota Department of Transportation, saying of the 147 citations, 92 were arrested for driving under the influence, 40 arrests for minor in consumption, minor in possession, or open container, and 15 drug-related arrests.

“Every driver and vehicle occupant can help meet the state’s goal of zero motor vehicle fatalities and serious injuries by taking personal responsibility when traveling. This means wearing a seat belt at all times, transporting children in child passenger safety seats appropriate for the child’s age, height and weight, driving distraction-free, driving sober and obeying all posted speed limits,” Vision Zero said in a statement.
