(Fargo, ND) – The North Dakota Republican Party State Convention wrapped up Saturday with three endorsements – Governor, United States Senate and United States House.
In the North Dakota Governor’s endorsement, only one candidate, current United States House member Kelly Armstrong, was nominated – resulting in Armstrong being named the endorsed candidate for Governor.
Armstrong said one of his major goals, if elected, is ease of access to government.
“People are starved for access,” he said. “This is going to be an unbelievably transparent campaign, and that’s going to move into our policy.”
Armstrong said information should be “as easily identifiable to people as possible.”
He named his running mate during the convention’s final day, tapping Fargo District 41 Republican Michelle Strinden to join the ticket. Strinden has served in the North Dakota State House since 2019, serving on the House Appropriations Committee, as well as serving as Chair of the interim House Juvenile Justice Committee.
