ROLLAG, Minn. — Anticipation is building in Rollag as volunteers and collectors put the finishing touches on the grounds for the annual Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion. Running Friday through Labor Day Monday, the living-history event brings agricultural heritage to life across a 210-acre site.
This year’s showcase features a massive display of iconic Steiger tractors, drawing collectors and vintage four-wheel-drive equipment from across the nation.
“It amazes me in all the years I’ve been involved, the week before the show how people just start rolling in from all over the country,” said Eric Nelson, a longtime organizer and volunteer for the event. “We have a sea of Steiger green out here.”
In addition to the feature exhibit, visitors can experience daily parades at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., live steam-powered machinery demonstrations, working sawmills, horse-powered farming, two operating scale trains, and a steam-driven hammer that stamps commemorative aluminum souvenir plates. Admission is free for children 14 and under.
