(Steele, ND) — Officials in Steele say a tornado derailed 43 BNSF coal rail cars when it roared through Kidder County shortly before 8:30 last night.
The train was stopped at the time because of the active tornado warning and the coal cars were empty. Cleanup started around 1:00 this morning and the company says there is no timeline on when cleanup will be finished.
