Schatz wins in front of home crowd at Red River Valley Speedway

(West Fargo, ND) -- It took late race heroics Saturday night at the Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, but 10-time World of Outlaws Champion and Fargo's own Donny Schatz picked up win 301 in the World of Outlaws in the feature race, capping off a successful night that saw the 44-year-old Schatz not only capture the feature race, but his heat race as well. Schatz took the lead in the feature with eight laps left after passing pole sitter David Gravel, who finished runner-up to Schatz.

Saturday's win marked number 23 for Schatz in his home state.

The Outlaws will make the nearly 300 mile trek south to race at Huset's Speedway in Brandon, South Dakota, Sunday night before returning to North Dakota to make up Friday night's rained-out 2nd Leg of the Northern Tour at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks on Wednesday, before traveling south to Nebraska for a one-day show, before ending August with a trip to Black Hills Speedway in Rapid City for the Rushmore Outlaw Showdown.
