Frisco bound: 2nd Quarter Explosion lead to 42-14 NDSU victory over MSU

 

North Dakota State and Montana State were tied at 7 with 12:44 to play in the 2nd quarter but that is when it all changed as Trey Lance found Christian Watson on a deep pass down the left sideline on a 75 yard touchdown, to give the Bison a lead they never relinquished in a 42-14 victory. On the ensuing offensive play for NDSU after a defensive stop, Watson  ran  70 yards on a jet sweep for a touchdown to make in 22-7 in a span of 2:07.

The Bison extended the lead to 29-7 at the half after Lance threw his second touchdown of the game to Jimmy Kepouros on a 6 yard touchdown to go into the locker room.

Lance finished 15-20 for 223 yards and 3 touchdowns while adding 10 carries and 58 yards and a touchdown, the first of the game.

Watson a 3 rushes for 86 yards and a touchdown 2 receptions for 88 yards and a TD.

NDSU improves to 15-0 and advances to the FCS National Championship Game on January 11th.
