A former Fargo South/Davies girls hockey standout has been drafted by the Minnesota Whitecaps of the National Women’s Hockey League.
Alex Woken, who, as a freshman, finished third in the state in scoring with 63 points, just completed her senior season with the Minnesota Golden Gophers. In her four seasons at the University of Minnesota, Woken scored 38 goals in 128 games for the maroon and gold. She also amassed a total of 75 points in four seasons.
Woken was taken fifth overall in the draft.
