Kirk Cousins Has Been Named NFC Offensive Player of the Week

QB Kirk Cousins was given the honor after leading the Vikings to a week 12 comeback win against the Carolina Panthers without star WR Adam Thielen (He was on the COVID list).

In the fourth quarter Minnesota trailed by 11 points before “Captain Kirk” arrived to help save the day for Vikings fans. He cemented his case for player of the week after completing 12 of 13 passes with two passing touchdowns and a 2-point conversion on Minnesota’s final two drives Sunday.

Cousins finished the game completing 34 of 45 passes for 307 yards with three touchdowns and a passer rating of 115.7. He now has five consecutive games with a passer rating over 100, including an NFL leading 124.3 passer rating in November. He also completed 105 of 145 passes for 1,293 yards and 12 passing touchdowns.

Cousins and the 5-6 Vikings are poised to make a run at a wildcard spot starting with hosting the 1-10 Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday with kickoff set for noon.
