A Pair From UND Have Earned NCHC Weekly Honors

     For the third consecutive week the University of North Dakota is in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) weekly awards headlines. Junior defenseman Ethan Frisch and senior goaltender Zach Driscoll each found themselves being honored by the NCHC Monday afternoon.

     Frisch was awarded the NCHC Defenseman of the Week for his outstanding performances in this past weekend's sweep over Colorado College. He led a group of only five defenseman during the series. Frisch found himself on the ice for over 58 minutes to lead all players in the series. He scored in both games and racked up three total points over the weekend. Frisch scored in back-to-back games for the second time this season during the sweep.

     UND blocked a total of 20 shots on Saturday that included a career-high six blocked shots for Frisch. UND was also a perfect 3-for-3 on the penalty kill.

     Driscoll was magnificent between the pipes against Colorado College earning his second straight NCHC Goaltender of the Week award. He stopped 24 of the 26 shots he faced in Friday night's 3-2 victory, both of which were given up on the penalty kill. On Saturday Driscoll was even better notching his 12th career shutout and second of the season in a 4-0 win over the Tigers.

     Driscoll saved 47 of the 49 shots he faced over the weekend including a .959 save percentage. During the month of February he is currently 3-1 with a .962 save percentage.

     No. 10 North Dakota will visit No. 7 Minnesota Duluth this weekend. Friday night’s game will be televised on CBS Sports Network with puck drop set for 8 p.m.
