On Monday, the Summit League announced North Dakota State University’s Evan Sankey as the TicketSmarter Summit League Pitcher of the Week. This is the first time Sankey has earned the honor.
Last weekend Sankey helped propel the Bison to a 3-1 start to the season. He tossed five shutout innings with three strikeouts in a 4-0 victory over Abilene Christian on Saturday. In the outing he held the Wildcats to a .250 batting average while only allowing five hits with no walks.
In three seasons with NDSU, Sankey has amassed a 9-4 record with 90 strikeouts and a 4.14 ERA.
The Bison will return to the diamond on Friday for a 4-game series at Dixie State. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
