A Pair From Dragon Men’s Basketball Have Earned All-NSIC Honors

     A one-two punch of juniors from Minnesota State University Moorhead men’s basketball program are being honored. Guard Lorenzo McGhee has been named to the All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference First Team in men’s basketball, while guard Gavin Baumgartner has received All-NSIC Second Team Honors, the league announced on Thursday.

     This is the second straight year McGhee has earned an All-NSIC First Team honor. In the regular season he averaged 12.4 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. McGhee shot well from the field knocking down 48.7 percent of his shots.

     In 18 conference games, he shot 52 percent from the field, while averaging 13.2 points and 4.5 rebounds.

     Baumgartner has earned an All-NSIC honor for the second time in his collegiate career, adding to his All-NSIC First Team selection in 2019-20. Throughout the entire regular season he averaged 12.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game.

     Baumgartner played in 18 NSIC games, averaging 12.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game.

     The Dragons will square off with St. Cloud State in the NSIC/Sanford Health Tournament quarterfinals on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. The game will be held at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D.
