Spencer Wilker Has Been Promoted To Assistant Coach For NDSU Men’s Basketball

NDSU head coach David Richman has announced the promotion of Spencer Wilker to assistant coach for North Dakota State men’s basketball.

Wilker joined the Bison in 2015 as the head student manager. He would serve in that same role through the 2018 season when he was hired as the director of men’s basketball operations in June 2019. Wilker gained four years of experience in the role. Now as the assistant coach he will be responsible for on-court instruction, scouting, game-planning, and recruiting.

“Coach Wilker has earned this opportunity through his passion and sheer dedication to Bison Basketball. We look forward to working with Spencer in his new role and continuing to raise the bar within our program,” said Richman.

Wilker was excited to be promoted within the program saying, “this program means a lot to me, and it has been a great joy to work with our players, our university, and our community to perform at a high standard. We will continue to work every day to develop quality young men and make NDSU proud.”

The Kenosha, Wis. native, graduated from North Dakota State in 2019 with a degree in strategic communications.
