NDSU’s Loven is the Summit League Pitcher of the Week

On Monday afternoon Max Loven was named the Summit League Pitcher of the Week for the first time this season. This is the third time in his Bison career that he’s been named the Summit League Pitcher of the Week.

Last Friday the left-handed pitcher threw seven innings with seven strikeouts while allowing only one run in NDSU’s 8-3 victory over South Dakota State. It marked the seventh time this season that Loven had four or more strikeouts in an appearance. In the seven inning start he registered a 1.29 ERA along with holding the Jackrabbits to a .200 batting average.

Loven is the third different Bison pitcher to earn the honor this season. Even Sankey was named Pitcher of the Week in back-to-back weeks on Feb. 21 and Fen. 28, while Tristen Roehrich earned the accolade on March 21.

The Bison return to action on Tuesday night vs Mayville State. First pitch at Newman Outdoor Field is slated for 6:30 p.m.
