(St. Paul, MN) -- In the wake of another injury to a play maker on offense, the Minnesota Vikings didn't look far to find a replacement.

The team looked inside the NFC North, coming to terms with the Detroit Lions to trade for star Tight End T.J. Hockenson.

ESPN is reporting in the trade, the Vikings receive the receiving threat, along with a 2023 Fourth-Round pick, as well as a 2024 conditional Fourth-Round pick.

Detroit hauls in a 2023 Second-Round pick from Minnesota, as well as a 2024 Third-Round pick.

Hockenson, who was widely considered one of  the better tight ends in football at the beginning of the season, has racked up 26 catches for 395 yards and three touchdowns in seven games played for the Lions this season.

He is coming off a career best season in all three categories for the Lions, who fell to (1-6) Sunday after a 31-27 loss to the Miami Dolphins.

It is expected that Hockenson will start at tight end moving forward for the Vikings, who lost Irv Smith Jr. to a high ankle sprain in Sunday's 34-26 win over Arizona.
