(Bismarck, ND) -- The North Dakota High School Activities Association is moving forward with a three-class system for boys and girls basketball.

The proposal was presented to the NDHSAA board Thursday and was unanimously accepted.

The process began nearly ten months ago after a focus group presented the plan to the boards after a survey period. There is no current time table listed as to when the three-class system would be officially implemented.

The board and committee will now focus on financial and staffing issues.
