MSUM's Boom Has Been Named the NSIC North Division Player of the Week Again!

     Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM) senior center Peyton Boom has earned her second Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) North Division Player of the Week award, the league office announced on Monday.

     The Barnesville, Minn., native was a force to be reckoned with in a pair of home victories over this past weekend. On Friday night she picked up her third double-double of the season with 12 points and 13 rebounds in MSUM’s 68-42 victory over Bemidji State. Boom also tallied five assists and two steals in the performance.

     On Saturday, she dropped 19 points and five rebounds in a dominating 71-50 win over Minnesota Crookston. Throughout the weekend Boom averaged 15.5 points and nine rebounds per contest while also shooting 54.5 percent from the field.

     Boom is currently 16th all-time at MSUM with 1,198 career points. On the season she is averaging 13.2 points and 7.2 rebounds per game with a 59.6 shooting percentage.

     The Dragons will return to the hardwood on Friday, Dec. 16 at St. Cloud State with tip scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
