Fargo Force Goaltender Matej Marinov has been named the USHL’s Goalie of the Week for the second time this season. This is the third time Marinov has been named the USHL’s Goalie of the Week in his Fargo Force career.
Marinov started both games in Omaha against the Lancers this weekend, helping the Force to a sweep over Omaha. Marinov stopped all but 2 shots all weekend, stoping 18 of 19 Saturday night and followed that up on Sunday afternoon by stopping 20 of 21 shots. Marinov leads the league with a 1.87 goals against average and a .928 save percentage. Marinov is undefeated in regulation this season and his only defeats were two shootout losses for a record of 10-0-0-2 on the season.
Marinov and the Force return to the ice this Friday at Scheels Arena hosting the Sioux Falls Stampede, followed by a quick trip to Sioux Falls Saturday for the finale of the weekend series.
