Marinov named Goaltender of the Week in back-to-back weeks

Fargo Force Goaltender Matej Marinov has been named the USHL’s Goalie of the Week for the third and fourth times this season in back-to-back weeks. This marks five times Marinov has been named the USHL’s Goalie of the Week in his Fargo Force career.

In two games versus Sioux City on February 10th and 11th, Marinov played both games going 2-0-0, with four Goals Against (GA), 54 saves, a 2.00 Goals Against Average (GAA) and a spectacular .931 save percentage (sv%). The following week, February 17th and 18th, Marinov started two games once again going 2-0-0 with four GA. That weekend Marinov had 59 saves, a 2.00 GAA, an and even better .937 sv%.

Marinov is now 18-0-0-2 on the year and leads USHL in both GAA and SV% with a with 2.07 GAA and .926 save percentage.

Marinov and the Force return to the ice this Friday on the road in Waterloo, Iowa versus the Black Hawks, followed by a trip to Omaha Saturday for a matchup with the Lancers.
