UND’s DeRidder earns another NCHC Goaltender of the Week honor

For the third time this season, fifth year goaltender Drew DeRidder has been named the NCHC Goaltender of the Week.

DeRidder was outstanding for the Fighting Hawks against Colorado College, helping UND to earn four points this past weekend. Friday night he made 17 saves and only allowed one goal in a 2-1 overtime victory. Then on Saturday, DeRidder saved all 26 shots he faced in a scoreless tie, including making six short-handed saves. In the shootout he blocked all three shots he faced to help North Dakota secure an extra point in the conference standings.

On the weekend DeRidder made 43 saves on the 44 shots he faced which gave him an NCHC-best .977 save percentage.

This season, DeRidder has an .896 save percentage and a 2.64 goals against average. He is tied for the NCHC lead with four shutouts and is seventh nationally. His overall record is now 9-7-4 on the season.

North Dakota will wrap up the regular season at Ralph Engelstad Arena against Omaha in a pair of matchups on Friday, March 3 and Saturday March 4.
