The Fargo Force announced today that they acquired forward Zam Plante from the Chicago Steel at the USHL Trade Deadline for Defenseman Reid Conn, 2023 Phase I Third Round Pick, 2023 Phase I 4th Round pick, Phase II First Round Pick, 2023 Phase II Third round pick, and Conditional Picks. Conn appeared in 29 games and had one goal and three assists with the Force in his first season in the USHL.

Plante is in his second year in the USHL and has scored eight goals and 15 assists for 23 points in 33 games with Chicago this season.  Plante is from Hermantown, Minnesota and led his team to the 2022 MN Class A Championship last year.

Plante was taken in the fifth round of the 2022 NHL Draft by the Pittsburgh Penguins and has committed to the University of MN-Duluth. Plante’s father Derek played eight seasons in the NHL and is currently an Assistant Coach with the Chicago Blackhawks. Plante’s brother, Max, also plays in the USHL with the NTDP U-17 team.

This marks the third trade made by Fargo Force General Manager Cary Eades this season. The Force have traded younger plays and draft picks to acquire USHL veterans to continue to push for Fargo's second ever Clark Cup. The Force currently have the USHL’s best record at 31-8-2-3 (67 points) and return to the ice at Scheels arena March 3rd and 4th to take on the Omaha Lancers.
