The Minnesota Wild visited the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday, March 21. The game was scoreless heading into the third period before Minnesota’s Mason Shaw found the back of the net at the 6:41 mark of the third period, giving the Wild the 1-0 lead. Then at 12:08 of the period New Jersey’s Timo Meier knotted the game up at a goal apiece.

Neither team would score again in the period, so to overtime they went. It took until the last possible second of overtime, but Matt Boldy was able to light the lamp. He took the puck up ice for a breakaway and buried the game-winning goal with 1.3 seconds remaining in overtime, giving Minnesota the 2-1 victory.

The Wild (41-22-8) have won nine of their last 12 games and are now tied with the Dallas Stars (38-19-14) for the division lead with 90 points. Both teams have 11 games remaining in the regular season.

Minnesota will visit the Philadelphia Flyer on Wednesday, March 23. Puck drop is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. with game coverage available on ESPN.
