On Monday league officials announced North Dakota State’s Carley Goetschius as the TicketSmarter Summit League Softball Peak Player of the Week. This is the second straight week she has earned the honor.
She led the Bison to a 3-game weekend series sweep over Kansas City. In the series Goetschius dominated at the plate, racking up eight hits in 11 at-bats (.727). She hit a pair of home runs and drove in a team-high eight runs, along with scoring six times.
This is the fifth straight week a Bison has been named a peak performer/pitcher of the week, dating back to February 27. Goetschius is the first Bison to earn back-to-back Summit League weekly honors since KK Leddy did so in April of 2019.
NDSU will return to the field at Western Illinois for a 3-game weekend series beginning on Saturday, April 1.
