Twins rally past Athletics, earn series sweep

(Oakland, CA) — The Minnesota Twins completed a three-game sweep of the Oakland A’s with a 5-4 win at the Oakland Coliseum.

The Twins trailed by a run in the top of the seventh before Alex Kirilloff hit a three-run double to put them up for good. Kirilloff also had a home run in the victory, and Jorge Lopez earned his third win in relief. Jhoan Duran picked up his 15th save as the Twins took a 2.5 game lead over Cleveland in the AL Central. Minnesota is now 48-46 on the season.

Minnesota now heads to Seattle for a four game series against the Mariners beginning tongiht. They will send Sonny Gray to the mound with first pitch set for 8:40 p.m. and game coverage availabale on Fox Sports 1.
