(Minneapolis, MN) — The Twins 18-game postseason losing streak has finally come to an end.
The Twins beat the Blue Jays 3-1 in Game One of the American League Wild Card Series at Target Field. Royce Lewis hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the first to give the Twins an early lead, and he added a solo shot in his next at-bat during the third. Pablo Lopez earned the win after holding Toronto to one run on five hits in five-and-two-thirds innings, and Jhoan Duran picked up the save. It was Minnesota’s first playoff win since 2004, and the club leads the best-of-three series 1-0.
The Twins send Sonny Gray to the mound as they go for the sweep in Game Two today.
