(Minneapolis, MN) -- The Minnesota Twins survived a late Royals rally during a 6-5 win at Target Field.

Minnesota led by five entering the top of the 9th before Kansas City put across four runs to get within one. However, Jhoan Duran forced Bobby Witt Jr. to ground out to end the game with the tying run at third and the go-ahead run at second. Jose Miranda and Trevor Larnach both went deep in the victory, and Joe Ryan earned his fourth win after striking out nine and allowing just one run on four hits in seven innings. Minnesota is in third place in the AL Central at 29-24.

Simeon Woods Richardson starts for the Twins against the Royals on Tuesday night at 6:40 p.m.
