(Bismarck, ND) -- Officials with the North Dakota Department of Human Services say they're expanding their rent aid program to help with qualified utility bills.
The program is directed at residents who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Support for the program comes from 25-billion dollars North Dakota received from the federal government for rental assistance.
The program -- called the Emergency Rent Bridge program -- has helped more than 17-hundred North Dakota renters. Since January, the state paid more than five-point-six-million dollars in rental assistance.
The expansion is for bills from qualifying utilities, such as water and electric.
