What a cold snap!! Warmer days ahead. Will March turn stormier?

Our stretch of 10 days below zero didn't set ANY records here in the Valley but it DID rank as the 4th longest below zero stretch on record!!  This "historic" cold stretched all the way down to the Gulf Coast where it snowed on the beaches of Galveston TX!!  First time since 1895.  This was truly a "once in a generation" cold snap for the central and southern plains.  The good news is we will slowly warm up over the next week as the core of the arctic air loses its grip and pull back north into Canada. We will FINALLY see temps rise above normal by Sunday.  It makes you realize that spring can't be far behind, right?  I mean, pitchers and catchers report to spring training THIS WEEK!!!!  I'm still seeing a few arctic intrusions for the Valley in March, however, they won't last too long.  March looks snowier as well.  Let's not get ahead of ourselves though and enjoy the "warmer" weather heading our way!!
