Smoky hazy skies, minimal chance of rain, record heat on the way

Hazy, smoky skies this week as smoke from the wild fires continue to spill into the valley.  This will lead to filtered sunshine.  Temps will be in the 80s this week with the ONLY chance for rain coming on Wednesday as cooler weather temporarily moves into the area.  Temps will continue to RISE and by next the heat ridge that has been parked over the west coast moves into the central and northern plains. This will lead to dangerous and record heat across our area with little chance for rainfall as most of the rainfall over the next 10 days remains to our south (attached rainfall map).   Records next week are in the upper 90s to near 100 and it looks like we should be having highs between 98 to 101.  This looks to be an extended heat wave as well so please prepare now.
