Ahlfeldt named Moorhead Assistant Chief of Police

MOORHEAD, MN — The Moorhead Police Department has a new Assistant Chief.

William Ahlfeldt has been named to the post. He comes to the department after 23 years with the Fargo Police Department.

Moorhead Police Chief Chris Helmick stated, “We are excited to welcome Captain Ahlfeldt to the Moorhead Police Department team. The two of us have worked together very closely over the years, and I thought he was an excellent fit for our department. His extensive knowledge and experience will be a tremendous asset to the Moorhead community.”

He will assist the Chief of Police with the planning, organizing and directing of police operations as well as attending community events and meetings as a representative of the department.
