N.D. Supreme Court Chief Justice will not seek reelection

BISMARCK – North Dakota’s Chief Supreme Court Justice says he’s not seeking reelection.

Jon Jensen, who was appointed by then-Governor Doug Burgum to the Court in 2017 and elected to a full 10-year term in 2020, was elected Chief Justice in 2019, before being reelected to a full five-year term in 2020.

“The position of Chief Justice, for me, has not been about a title, it has been about service and making our judicial system as great as it can be. It has been an honor to serve,” Jensen said.

Jensen served as a District Judge in the Northeast Central Judicial District from 2013 until 2017.
