Man who died in rural Ulen, Minn. house fire is identified

UPDATE – The Clay County Sheriff’s Office identifies the man who died in rural Ulen, Minnesota house fire on Friday, January 9 as the homeowner, 57-year-old Daryn Waller.

Authorities say the fire is under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office.

 

CLAY COUNTY, Minn. – A man is dead after a house fire in Clay County.

First responders went to a home between Ulen and Felton around 10:15 AM on Friday, January 9. Dispatch said a man wasn’t able to get out of the home.

After a deputy wasn’t able to find the man because of smoky conditions, Ulen firefighters arrived to knock down the flames and search the house. They found him in a bedroom.

The man’s name hasn’t been released.

The Minnesota Fire Marshal’s Office will help with the investigation.
