FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – There will be no official City of Fargo celebrations for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day or Juneteenth this year.
City officials say the decision is part of a broader 2026 budget realignment, focused on prioritizing core services.
Nearly $18,000 was budgeted for the MLK event and more than $12,000 was set aside for Juneteenth.
Both were not approved for the new budget.
The city still encourages residents to honor these observances through service, learning or community engagement.
