ST PAUL, MINN – The Minnesota National Guard remains mobilized for potential deployment.
Governor Tim Walz directed the mobilization earlier this week as civil unrest continues across Minneapolis.
“Members of the Minnesota National Guard are on standby, ready to assist local law enforcement and public safety agencies,” the Guard said on Facebook Saturday afternoon. “These Minnesota National Guardsmen live, work, and serve in our state, and are focused on protecting life, preserving property, and ensuring Minnesotans can safely exercise their First Amendment rights.”
The Guard also said members, if activated, will be wearing reflective vests to help distinguish them from other agencies in similar uniforms
