ALEXANDRIA, Minn. – No one was hurt when a side-by-side broke through the ice on Lake Le Homme Dieu in Alexandria, Minnesota during the morning hours of Sunday, December 19.
Douglas County Deputies spoke with a man who said he was driving on a channel when the vehicle went through the ice near a pressure ridge. He was able to get out and get help from a friend to tow the side-by-side out.
Authorities say the open water has been marked with thin ice signs.
The Sheriff’s Office reminds everyone to use caution when on the ice as it’s still unsafe in many areas.
