With Giving Hearts Day more than a week away, early giving opportunities are open

Dakota Medical Foundation Chief Operating Officer Amanda Sayre visits with Scott Hennen

REGION — Giving Hearts Day is still more than a week away, but officials with Dakota Medical Foundation are gearing up for the single biggest day of giving regionally.

Amanda Sayre is the Chief Operating Officer at the Dakota Medical Foundation — and she talked about the inspiration Giving Hearts Day is.

“It’s incredible to watch the community rally around our nonprofits and really take time to celebrate the day,” she said.

Last year, $31.6 million was raised for charities across the region.

You can start giving now.

“You can go to the website, find your nonprofit and make your donations ahead of time,” Sayre said.

She says there are nearly 650 charities that you can donate to.

In addition to financial donations, gifts of time or talents are also accepted for the charities.
