Fargo School Board to consider potential excess mill levy authority vote

FARGO, N.D. – The Fargo School Board will officially decide whether or not to place an excess mill levy authority question before voters at 110 mills on the November 3, 2026, general election ballot.

According to a memo to the board from President Katie Christensen-Mineer, Superintendent Dr. Cory Steiner and Chief Financial Officer Jackie Gapp, the vote would ‘maintain the District’s current general fund mill levy authority and would not increase or decrease the overall levy.’ Additionally, the three say property taxes would not increase directly as a result of the vote.

The board will meet Tuesday for a regular meeting.
