Applied Digital CEO Wes Cummins’ conversation with The Flag’s Scott Hennen
HARWOOD, N.D. — As the work continues on the Applied Digital artificial intelligence site in Harwood, the company’s CEO Wes Cummins says there were lessons learned in a previous project that they’re taking into their second North Dakota project.
“We spent time, the last couple of years, where we built our first facility in Ellendale, and we really enhanced the way we do construction,” he said.
Cummins says the enhancements allow the company to compete in what he calls a ‘really fast-moving market.’
Applied Digital broke ground in Harwood in September.
Cummins also said North Dakota is in the future expansion plans for the company. A third facility, besides Harwood and Ellendale, resides in Jamestown.
“We have a potential location, north of Bismarck, that we’d love to develop,” he said.
Cummins even envisions a project in the Bakken.
“We would like to develop new generation resources off of the Bakken gas, the TrapNet gas, in the Bakken field,” he said.
