BISMARCK, N.D. – The North Dakota Public Service Commission has approved a rate hike for one of the state’s utility providers.
In January of this year, Xcel Energy notified the PSC of a change in rates for its natural gas service.
While asking for a full rate increase of nearly 12 percent, the PSC approved an interim rate increase of 10-point-66 percent. The interim increase equals more than eight dollars per month more for residential customers.
If eventually approved, the full increase would raise bills more than $10 per month.
