East Grand Forks votes to fly current Minnesota flag

EAST GRAND FORKS, MINN – The East Grand Forks City Council has voted to continue flying the new Minnesota state flag.

At its city council meeting this week, the council voted 5-2 to keep flying the new flag, which was adopted in May 2024.

“I believe this is our responsibility here as elected officials,” councilman Brian Larson said. “To comply with state regulations, including the flag that was selected by the state of Minnesota.”

Ben Pokrzywinski and Tim Riopelle casted the dissenting votes.
