MOORHEAD, MINN – Residents of the City of Moorhead pushing for the city to become ‘age friendly.’
It’s all geared towards the state organization Age-Friendly Minnesota, which, according to a state website, is ‘a collaborative statewide effort to make our systems and communities more inclusive of and responsive to older adults.’ The state became the country’s 10th state to join AARP’s Network of Age-Friendly States & Communities.
“The Age-Friendly groups across Minnesota do incredible work,” Moorhead Mayor Shelly Carlson said.
Council member Deb White suggested adding the topic to a future council workshop, in an effort to determine how the Age-Friendly’s concepts can possibly work into the scope of the city.
No action was taken by the council Monday night.
