Fargo City Commission to consider Stefonowicz’s interim chief appointment Monday

FARGO, N.D. – The Fargo City Commission is set to act on the appointment of a 25-year veteran as the interim police chief.

City Administrator Michael Redlinger is recommending the appointment of Assistant Chief Travis Stefonowicz as the interim chief as the search for a new replacement gets underway. He’s served as Assistant Chief for the last five years.

The application period for the new chief is set to open in May, with the appointment coming later in 2026.

The current Chief, David Zibolski, will retire today.
