Fargo City Commission appoints interim police chief

FARGO, N.D. – The City of Fargo officially appointed an interim Chief of Police at its meeting Monday night.

City Administrator Michael Redlinger spoke about Travis Stefonowicz.

“Over the last 25 years, he’s held a variety of roles here,” Redlinger said. “He’s really committed to Fargo, very much committed to the Fargo Police Department.”

Stefonowicz has held roles as Sergeant, Lieutenant and Assistant Chief.

He takes over for David Zibolski, who retired last week after more than five years at the helm of the Fargo PD.
