The Minnesota Twins took down the Detroit Tigers 7-3 in their series opener on Monday night.
Joe Ryan struck out seven batters while only giving up two runs over five innings en route to earning the win. Anthony Banda tossed a scoreless innings while Eric Orze and Kody Funderburk each threw ⅔ of an inning. Cody Laweryson tossed 1 ⅔ innings, earning the save.
Victor Caratini led the offense with three RBI. Luke Keaschall added a two-run homer. Matt Wallner and Royce Lewis each tallied an RBI.

Minnesota rose to 4-6 on the season. The Twins and Tigers will continue their series on Tuesday night with the first pitch scheduled for 6:40 p.m. and game coverage available at Twins.TV. Taj Bradley will be on the mound for Minnesota while Tarik Skubal counters for Detroit.
