Wild sign Stramel to three-year entry-level contract

Minnesota Wild President of Hockey Operations and General Manager, Bill Guerin, has announced the signing of of forward, Charlie Stramel, to a three-year entry-level contract beginning in the 2026-27 season. The Wild originally selected Stramel with the 21st overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft.

The 21-year-old spent two seasons at the University of Wisconsin from 2022-24 before spending his final two collegiate seasons at Michigan State from 2024-26. During his time with the Badgers, he tallied 20 total points on eight goals and 12 assists over 67 games. Over the previous two seasons with the Spartans, Stramel has played in 74 games, scoring 28 goals with 43 assists for 71 total points along with tallying a plus-32 rating in the plus/minus category.

In his senior season, Stramel racked up 44 points for the Spartans, including 19 goals and 24 assists. Additionally, he was a Top 10 finalist for the Hobey Baker Award, given annually to the top player in collegiate hockey.

Stramel, a native of Rosemount, Minn., will be wearing the No. 15 sweater with the Wild.
