The Minnesota Twins fell short to the New York Mets 3-2 on Wednesday night.
Byron Buxton hit a solo home run, his fifth of the season. Victor Caratini also picked up an RBI.
Connor Prielipp struck out six batters while giving up two runs over four innings in a no-decision. Kendry Rojas tossed a pair of scoreless innings out of the bullpen. It was Prielipp and Rojas’ big league debuts. Eric Orze added a shutout inning. Taylor Rogers gave up one run over ⅔ of an inning and was tagged with the loss.
Minnesota fell to a record of 12-12 on the season.
The Twins and Mets will conclude their series on Thursday in the series rubber match with first pitch scheduled for 6:10 p.m. and game coverage available on Twins.TV. Joe Ryan will be on the mound for Minnesota while Christian Scott counters for New York.
