MNGOP Chairman calls on White to step aside from U.S. Senate campaign amid allegations of abuse

ST PAUL, MINN – The chairman of the Minnesota GOP is calling on a candidate for U.S. Senate to resign amid allegations of abuse.

Alex Plechash says recent reports about Royce White are ‘deeply troubling.’

“While the Republican Party of Minnesota cannot force any candidate out of a race, we are not going to pretend this is acceptable,” he said. “Candidates seeking public office must demonstrate sound judgment, behavioral discipline, and respect for the law. These reports raise serious questions about all three.”

KSTP TV reports White is challenging a judge’s order of protection issued for his ex-wife and teenage son. Two months ago, KSTP-TV reports, a judge found ‘credible allegations of abuse and threats by White toward his ex-wife and child.’

“Mr. White should immediately suspend his campaign, address the personal and legal matters before him, and stop putting Republican voters and activists in the position of defending the indefensible,” Plecchash said. “The path forward is clear: he should step aside.”

Flag Family News has reached out to White for comment. We have not heard back as of the printing of this article. We will update this story as new information becomes available.
