City of Fargo names Travis Stefonowicz as sole finalist for Fargo Police Chief

FARGO, N.D. – The City of Fargo has released the name of the finalist for the position of Police Chief.

Four applications were received during the city’s nationwide search for the new chief after David Zibolski’s retirement in March of this year. Three of the finalists were from out-of-state, with the fourth being from in-state. The City of Fargo says two of the finalist candidates chose not to move forward with the finalist phase of the selection process and withdrew their applications from consideration.

Flag Family News has reached out to the City of Fargo for the names of the finalists. As of the time of this article, we have yet to hear back.

The selection committee will recommend Travis Stefonowicz, the current interim chief, as the sole finalist. He’ll be interviewed by the committee on Thursday.

City Administrator Michael Redlinger will then present the preferred candidate to the Fargo City Commission next Monday.
